Ellen Port, a five-time USGA Champion will captain the 2014 Curtis Cup Team in the 38th playing of the Matches. "Ellen is one of the great USGA amateur champions of the modern era," said Dot Paluck, chairman of the USGA Women's Committee. "She has well represented the United States in past Curtis Cup Matches, and we are proud to have her as captain of the 2014 Team."
The United States Golf Association is making a change effective 2015 to their annual championship schedule. It's been a rough start for professional golf. The PGA Tour Hyundai Tournament of Champions needed multiple starts to get the tournament underway. Eventually the tournament was started on Monday and completed with 36 holes on Tuesday to get the minimum 54 holes in to make the tournament official by PGA Tour standards.
